  • Overview


    Provide full-time on-site support to the AWACS MTC program by performing System Administrator (SysAd) duties by maintaining the AWACS Mission Training Center (MTC) Sentry software product to support all manner of MTC operations, training or test events.  Manage, in coordination with the Sentry Project Manager, the annual concurrency software release by directing and participating in Sentry product regression and load testing efforts.  Document all testing efforts on the Jira and Wiki tools to effectively communicate/furnish test results to the Sentry Project Manager.  To prepare for annual concurrency release, SysAd is responsible for developing effective relationships with local agencies that furnish reference materials and other documentation to allow for the timely receipt of documentation, establish requirements, and coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs) to augment deficient/missing documentation to support emulation development efforts.  Responsible for identifying requirements for annual concurrency release differences training and coordinate development of training materials for MTC users.  Coordinates changes to ASCOT user’s manual by providing updates for the technical writer to keep manuals current. Functions as key member in the Program Incident Report/Program Error Report (PIR/PER) process. Conduct/participate in meetings with Government agencies as required by contract.



    • Manage AWACS Mission Training Center (MTC) Sentry Software regression/load testing functions to support software concurrency requirements
    • Perform pre-delivery validation of ASCOT, Launch Control, Sentry and PLEXComm (sonamarc) software along with Diagnostics
    • Exercise authority, as directed by SysAD lead, on behalf of PLEXSYS Interface Products, Inc., for all matters related to Sentry product concurrency to support daily execution of this contract
    • Establish positive and productive relationships with the 552 ACW Operations Support Squadron’s offices to support quarterly concurrency difference documentation and training requirements
    • Establish positive and productive relationships with the current training support contractor to assist in training of their personnel on the MTC capabilities, scenario development and positional functionality
    • Establish positive and productive relationships with the 552 ACW Computer Support Group and Operations Support Squadron for transfer of data to support software changes and facility requirements
    • Monitor MTC Program schedule and coordinate testing requirements with Site Manager to ensure adequate resources are available to support and perform all required regression and system load testing efforts
    • Identify additional customer needs or requirements that may evolve into future business opportunities
    • Power-on and configure AWACS MTC mission consoles, Instructor Operator Stations, communications systems, visual and teleconferencing equipment, networks to include printers and other associated equipment in order to meet system concurrency requirements
    • Provide familiarization and operational training to customers in the operation of the AWACS MTC
    • Maintain positive relationship with all Product Managers and testing personnel to ensure effective software testing and documentation to support software error reporting and corrective software repair
    • Coordinate PIR/PER and RFI processes with 29TS and OSS flights and report findings through effective use of JIRA (bug tracker) and Confluence (Wiki) programs
    • Support the customer during acceptance testing
    • Provide testing support for related PLEXSYS product lines and programs
    • Other tasking and duties as assigned



    • Experience with networking and network configuration
    • Experience in troubleshooting and software testing
    • Obtain DoD 8570 Security Plus certification within 6 months of hire
    • Ability to obtain security clearance


    • Bachelor’s degree in technical field or equivalent work experience
    • Experience serving as an AWACS MTC Site Coordinator is highly desirable
    • Working knowledge of MTC Products: ASCOT Runtime, ASCOT Scenario Development, Launch Control, (PlexComm) sonamarc, Diagnostics, and Sentry software
    • Experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office


    • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
