    We are a SW Washington software company looking for a sharp, intuitive, tech-savvy IT Help Desk Technician to fill a newly-created role on our IT Team!  

     

    PLEXSYS Interface Products, Inc., is a 100% employee owned small business, specializing in modeling and simulation systems and support services for 21st Century Air, Land, and Sea synthetic training.  Concentrations include the development of Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) environment generation technologies used throughout USAF Distributed Mission Operations and other joint and international high fidelity simulations.  As a company, we’re small and flexible enough for every person to take initiative and develop a long-term career with our organization.

     

    The PLEXSYS IT Team is tasked with supporting a wide array of projects including setup and support of end user workstations, maintenance of server and network infrastructure, and development of computer architecture solutions for internal and external customers. Most of your projects as an IT Help Desk Technician here will revolve around the technical side of things, being tasked with
    supporting end users and development of IT process documentation. The IT Help Desk Technician will also have an opportunity to help develop network, IT security, and IT systems solutions in coordination with senior IT staff.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide technical assistant and support, by phone, in-person, and remotely for all PLEXSYS users
    • Ensures that all relevant communication, documentation and files related to the case are accurately recorded in the ticket and wiki systems
    • Train users to gain proficiency in use of their technology devices
    • Install and Support desktops, printers, email, phones, and other related IT-managed systems
    • Assist with the development of IT documentation including system setup procedures, network topology drawings, troubleshooting processes
    • Assist with monitoring and auditing the PLEXSYS network and systems
    • Network management diagnostics and trouble-shooting
    • Assist senior IT staff in the development of network systems and IT security components
    • Support office systems including but not limited to: Windows 7, 10, Linux, Server 2016
    • Assist with other projects and duties, as needed

    Qualifications

    IT HELP DESK TECHNICIAN REQUIREMENTS

    • Associates degree in related field or 2 years’ experience in related field
    • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
    • Strong attention to detail with regard to note taking and troubleshooting documentation
    • Experience working with Microsoft technologies including Windows and Windows Server
    • Experience working with and troubleshooting Microsoft Office
    • Experience working in a Windows Active Directory Environment

     

    DESIRABLE

    • A minimum of 1 years of information technology help desk department experience
    • IT certifications such as A+ or Security+
    • General knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, VPN, and concepts
    • General knowledge of virtualization concepts including VMWare ESXi
    • Experience with IT automation solutions including PowerShell or Bash scripts
    • Familiarity with IT ticket tracking systems such as JIRA
    • Familiarity with IT documentation systems such as Confluence
    • Familiarity with IT asset tracking
    • Familiarity with Log collection tools such as Graylog or Splunk
    • Familiarity with network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls
    • Familiarity with Linux operating systems
