    The Software Engineer will support the Distributed Mission Operations Center (DMOC) mission at Kirtland Air Force Base, NM.  The DMOC mission is to develop and integrate technologies to deliver a Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) combat environment for Air Force, Joint and Coalition warfighter training.  The DMOC promotes the use of Distributed Mission Operation capabilities to connect Air Force (AF), Joint, and Coalition simulators and facilities into a LVC training environment to train, test, and experiment on modern warfighting Tactics, Techniques and Procedures to prepare for major combat operations.


    In the role of Software Engineer you will be responsible for researching, designing, developing and/or modifying enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.  The PLEXSYS Software Engineer will operationally report to the General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) lead and administratively report to the PLEXSYS Site Manager.

    • Designs and codes software components, units, and modules that meet product specifications and development schedules
    • Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
    • Tests and debugs assigned components and units
    • Participates in large system and subsystem planning
    • Collaborates with hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems and works with them to resolve incompatibilities
    • Writes and updates technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials
    • Troubleshoots problems and provides customer support for software operating systems and application issues
    • Advises hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements
    • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
    • Participates in special projects as required


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
    • 5-8 years of related software development experience
    • Minimum Secret DoD Clearance (TS / SCI SAP eligible desired)
