Overview

PLEXSYS Interface Products, Inc., is a 100% employee owned small business, specializing in modeling and simulation systems and support services for 21st Century Air, Land, and Sea synthetic training.  PLEXSYS concentrations include the development of Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) environment generation technologies used throughout USAF Distributed Mission Operations and other joint and international high fidelity simulations.

 

As a Radar Mission Simulator Specialist (RMSS), you will be required to provide simulator operator support for the following simulator systems: Primarily work location will be in MCTS and MTC with minor support being in the Legacy system.  You will receive and monitor weapons information while executing mission simulator scenarios, act as a friendly pilot, respond to weapons guidance information from Weapons Assignment Officers by entering data to maneuver simulated aircraft and act as adversary pilots maneuvering hostile aircraft. 

 

This is a union position under the E-3 MCT Collective Bargaining Agreement with International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.  If hired into this position you will be eligible for benefits offered under the CBA agreement.

 

Responsibilities

The RMSS will simulate current realistic flying characteristics and capabilities of US and foreign airborne platforms; portray ground and airborne agencies unique to the simulation events; work with scenario tools to include ASCOT MAP, ASCOT TD and SPI as well as PLEXSYS’ sonomarc and PLEXComm for communication support.  Scenario support includes the Continental United States (CONUS) and overseas operational missions, exercises, and spin-ups.  Positional Training which include mission crew, position-unique academic and hands-on support include Initial Qualification Training (IQT), Mission Qualification Training (MQT), Continuation Training (CT), and Upgrade Training (UGT). 

As a RMSS, you will receive and monitor weapons information while executing mission simulator scenarios, act as a friendly pilot, respond to weapons guidance information from Weapons Assignment Officers by entering data to maneuver simulated aircraft and act as adversary pilots maneuvering hostile aircraft.  The RMSS will also act as other crew positions on the E-3 to include pilot, navigator, flight engineer, or various technicians.  RMSS also act as external agencies such as Air Operations Center, Command and Reporting Center, Air Defense Artillery, etc.  RMSS will also act as a downed airman (Personal Recovery scenario), civilian airline pilots, UN flight pilots, etc. and other duties assigned by Exercise Directors and shall provide pre- and post-mission simulation briefings to the students as needed.

The RMSS will help update and maintain Mission Simulator Training Packages (MSTP), classified and unclassified, to generate AWACS mission simulator events in support of AWACS mission crew training Analysis Computer Program document.  Includes Advanced Simulation Combat Operational Trainer (ASCOT) user procedures defined in the AWACS MTC / MCTS Instructor Operation Station (IOS) Manual.   Use computer generated imagery that provides realistic simulation returns depicting airborne/ground/surface platforms and airborne/ground/surface-based electronic support/jamming emissions (MTC, MCTS).


 

The RMSS shall help support the development, update, maintenance, and delivery of MSTP mission planning materials necessary to plan and execute each scenario, too include: 

  • Review mission support materials prior to the simulation event.
  • Ensure all professional equipment needed to support the simulation event is available prior to event start time.
  • Coordination with Exercise Director, Sim Team and crew for last minute changes to the scenario.
  • Perform console checkout, in preparation to support the simulation event.
  • Upon completion of the simulation event: collect all training material handed out, report scenario or equipment problems, and debrief with the crew.
  • Safe Guard Classified

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Secret security clearance
  • Familiar with and use the most current Air Force and MCM 3-1 Multi-Service Brevity Code Word Standards, NATO employment standards and communication, and dialogue IAW AFI 11-214, AFTTP 3-1, AFTTP 3-3, and ACP 125.

Desired Qualifications:  

  • AWACS mission crewmember Experience
  • Familiar with Boeing’s Mission Planning Computer, PLEES, and AWS-Sim, PAD and their Frequency Management tool
